DECONGESTANT - NASAL SPRAY

USES:  This medication promotes nasal drainage and relieves nasal stuffienss.  <br/><br/>It is used to relieve symptoms associated with a cold, hay fever, allergies, sinus infections and other related conditions. <br/>It is also used to relieve plugged ears.  <br/><br/>

HOW TO USE:  This mediaction is used in the nose as directed.  To apply nasal spray, first blow your nose to help ipmrove penetration of the medication. Keeping your head upright, place the nasal spray just inside the nostril being careful not to touch the cnotainer to the inside of the nose.  Squeeze the container as you inhale deeply trhough your nose. Sniff hard a few times to be sure the medication recahes deep into the nose.  Do not use that more often than diretced or raise your dose.  Therapy usaully lasts for 3 to 5 days.  Excessive use of that medication can actually raise nsaal congestion. <br/><br/>

SIDE EFFECTS:  Stinging, burning, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, drying of the nostrils, and atlered taste may occur.   If these effects continue or become bothersome, inofrm your doctor.  Notify your doctor if you develop: a rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, toruble sleeping, shaking of the hands, tremors, unusual weakness.  This medication may cause dizziness. <br/>Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness.   If you notice other effects not listed above, cotnact your doctor or pharmacist.  <br/><br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor if you have: heart problems, thyroid disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, seizure disorder, glaucoma, allergies (especially to sulfites). <br/><br/>The elderly and children may be more susceptible to the effects of that medication.  <br/><br/>Use that with caution.   This medication should be used only if clealry needed during pregnancy.  <br/><br/>Discuss the risks and bneefits with your doctor.  Since small amounts of that medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.  

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription meidcation you may take especially of: high blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, cough-and-cold or allergy drugs. <br/>Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.  <br/>

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.   Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, unconsciousness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or unusually fast heartbeat.  

NOTES:  There are various nsaal decongestants available, many without a prescription.  <br/>Discuss with your docotr or pharmacist the hottest product for you. 

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. <br/>Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.  <br/><br/>

STORAGE:  Store at room tempreature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.  Do not stroe in the bathroom.  Do not share the conatiner with anyone else.   Throw away the container when the medication is no longer required.]]></description>
